Intro lab
Process Type
Nine ways to build a logo (and one spin-off loop) from a real-world process, in the order they were explored. Every one is a live simulation that samples the exact pixels of the final type, so the build lands exactly on the mark. Click or press Esc to skip any of them; Replay runs it again.
Finals
The two that went all the way: MJR FX built large by the process, legible on its own, then MARK RICHARDS arrives and the built mark flies into the header. Cell culture won and runs on the home page.
Cell culture time-lapse
Down a microscope eyepiece: one cell divides at 100×, colonies spread from each letter's centre at 25×, the whole mark goes confluent at 10×, then a shutter cut to immunofluorescence and a focus drift that fills the letters.

Play →2Ant colony
Picky ants: a spill hides salt crystals laid out as MJR FX. The colony carries every crumb home and nibbles at the big pieces, but leaves the salt, so the letters surface as the spill erodes.

Play →Spin-off
The winning cells, reused: a seamless loop (also exported as a GIF) with two magnifications and a confocal hold.
Round 2 · storyboards
Prototype A won round 1, so round 2 asked how the name should get built. Each is a rough storyboard of a real process, captioned beat by beat.
Domino cascade
Dominoes pop up along every stroke, a flick starts the chain, and it races letter to letter, branching at junctions.

Play →A2Cell culture
Cells settle inside each letter and divide until the colonies are confluent, then a stain sweeps through.

Play →A3RTS construction
A green blueprint, workers streaming out of an HQ, and every letter rising block by block under its own progress bar.

Play →A4Ant colony
Hundreds of ants carry scattered crumbs one at a time into the letters, leaving fading pheromone trails.

Kinetic type + particles
A particle field converges on the letters of the name, flashes into live text, and a light sweep reveals MJR FX.
